Bombing Gaza

A photo of young Israelis sitting on top of a watchtower at the Gaza border has gone viral on social media for the past week. 7 young Israelis were shown smiling and waving to news cameras on top of a watchtower in Nahal Oz right outside the borders of Gaza while cheering on IDF soldiers as they were firing at Palestinian protestors, a scene which is not unfamiliar, back in 2014, some Israelis in the border town of Sderot were spotted drinking, cheering and posing for selfies or recording videos while Israeli soldiers bombed the Gaza strip.

This has caused outrage amongst many social media users who are calling it an “outdoor cinema” condemning it as disgusting and barbaric.

Around 32 Palestinians were killed over the past ten days as part of the Great March of Return one of which was Yaser Murtaja, a journalist covering the story of the protest, and over 1000 people were injured due to the firing of live ammunition and the use of strange gases by the Israeli forces.

People marched in solidarity in other Palestinian territories, and thousands of people rallied in London and New York to show their support, including many Jewish organizations who condemn the acts of Israel in the name of Judaism.

Comey Notes Published

Detailed notes from conversations between former FBI Director James Comey and US President Donald Trump have been published. They were handed to Congress on Thursday earlier this week – partially redacted. The memos contain information about Trump´s relationship to former National Security Advisor, Michael Flynn.

The details in the notes are consistent with allegations James Comey makes in his new book. Comey was fired as FBI Director last year while he was leading an investigation into alleged meddling in the presidential election in 2016 through Russia. The investigation is still ongoing and is continued by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Comey also took notes about some of the private conversations he had with Trump and states that the president values personal loyalty more than keeping the law and that the president has no regard for the truth. Trump himself on the other hand took to Twitter and declared the notes would prove that he did nothing wrong.

Berlin’s most famous night club is to be stripped of it’s trading license.

Berghain is the most famous club in Germany and one of the most famous techno clubs in the world, for years people have traveled to Berlin for the sole purpose of getting past the strict door policy to spend a weekend inside what used to be a power station on the border of Berlin’s Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain districts.

Earlier this week a formal request was sent to the district office in Berlin by Sybille Schmidt, an independent AfD-backed councillor requesting that the club’s opening hours be limited to 9 hours which are from 10 pm until 6 am only, as well as for sexual activity in the club’s “dark rooms” to be suppressed by use of “appropriate lighting and personnel”.

The request mentions the death by overdose of a 30 year old American woman last year in Berghain, the request suggests that the club’s continuous opening hours is provoking drug use.

Frank Hansel, an AfD delegate in the Berlin assembly wrote on twitter “The applicant is an independent and cannot speak for the party,” distancing the party from Schmidt’s request.
